Duration: 6 Week Embroidery Course (1 x 2.5 hour session per week for 6 consecutive weeks)
Over this six-week online course, you’ll learn how to create your own personalised family crest, combining fabric appliqué, goldwork and thread work techniques to create a unique embroidered design.
You’ll begin by choosing from a range of motifs and symbols, selecting elements that have a personal connection to you. You can also choose letters or initials to incorporate into your design, allowing you to create a crest that reflects your own family, interests or story. Throughout the course, you’ll explore a variety of techniques including fabric appliqué, goldwork and decorative thread work. With a wide selection of coloured fabrics, threads and embellishment materials available in your kit, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to experiment with colour, texture and detail to make your piece your own.
By the end of the six weeks, you’ll have created a fully personalised embroidered family crest, combining traditional techniques with your own choice of motifs, colours and lettering to create a unique piece of decorative embroidery.
