Discover Goldwork embroidery in our Seaside Starfish Taster. In this 3-hour workshop, you'll create a beautifully embroidered starfish using a selection of traditional metal thread embroidery techniques combined with beading and thread work. Perfect for complete beginners and those new to Goldwork, this relaxed and inspiring class introduces the fundamentals of this craft while guiding you through a charming coastal-inspired design. You'll learn how to apply a variety of Goldwork materials and techniques with personalised support from our expert tutors every step of the way. To make your project yours, you will choose from a selection of base fabric colours and different colour threads on the day.

Techniques & Breakdown

This playful taster class offers a great introduction to the art of goldwork embroidery, starting with the very basics of the technique. Our tutors will guide you through fundamental skills, showing you how to cast onto your fabric, apply pearl purl and beads. As well as creating a satin stitch base and topped with delicate essing and goldwork loops. All techniques will be demonstrated live by our experienced embroidery experts who are on hand to support you in your new found skill.
