Duration: 6 Week Embroidery Course (1 x 2.5 hour session per week for 6 consecutive weeks)
Over this six-week course, you’ll explore the techniques of tambour embroidery through a design inspired by couture fashion, waves and the movement of the ocean. You’ll create your own section of couture-inspired embellishment, designed as a statement piece that could be seen making its way down the runway.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn a range of tambour techniques, including beading, sequins and rich stitch work. You’ll experiment with layering different materials and embellishments, building up texture and movement to create a wave-like surface.
The design encourages you to work with colour, texture and scale, combining different materials in contemporary ways to create a richly embellished piece. You’ll learn how to use the tambour hook to work efficiently across your design while exploring how different stitches and materials can change the look and feel of the finished embroidery. Whether you’re new to tambour embroidery or looking to develop your existing skills, this six-week online class offers an introduction to couture-style embellishment while giving you the freedom to create your own unique, fashion-inspired piece.
