Duration: 6 Week Embroidery Course (1 x 2.5 hour session per week for 6 consecutive weeks)
Date and Time: 26th January - 2nd March (2-4.30pm)
This design celebrates the richness and versatility of Traditional Goldwork embroidery in this warm and radiant design.
Over this six-week course, You’ll undertake a thorough exploration of fundamental Goldwork techniques and learn to create padded surfaces to embellish with metal threads, wires and bullions. Each technique is carefully guided, allowing you to build confidence as you create this richly decorated design.
Worked on a warm rust, your scarab is brought to life through a glowing palette of deep oranges, burnished golds and copper tones. A standout feature of this design is the pair of delicate, raised wings. These are created using wire shapes on organza, and carefully applied over to your scarab body after completion. Combining this raised work technique adds a playful contrast to the structured Goldwork beneath, and elevates the design into a striking and dimensional outcome.
Whether you are new to Goldwork or looking to further your skills, Sunlit Scarab provides an inspiring exploration into the world of decorative embroidery.
